أفادت مصادر لصحيفة فايننشال تايمز، أن رئيس مجلس إدارة بنك «UBS» كولم كيليهر أجرى محادثات مع وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت حول احتمال نقل المقر الرئيسي للبنك من سويسرا إلى الولايات المتحدة، في ظل حالة عدم اليقين المحيطة بإصلاحات رأس المال المرتقبة في سويسرا.

وبحسب الصحيفة، فقد تناولت المحادثات التصورات الأولية لكيفية انتقال المقر المحتمل، في وقت تبدي فيه إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب انفتاحا على استقبال أكبر بنك سويسري.

ويصف «UBS» إصلاحات رأس المال التي تخطط لها الحكومة السويسرية عقب أزمة كريدي سويس بأنها مبالغ فيها، إذ قد ترفع متطلبات رأس المال على البنك بنحو 26 مليار دولار.

وكانت وكالة بلومبيرغ قد أشارت في مارس إلى أن البنك يدرس خيار نقل مقره خارج سويسرا إذا تم اعتماد القواعد الجديدة دون تخفيف.

Sources told the Financial Times that the Chairman of UBS, Colm Kelleher, held talks with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pruitt about the possibility of relocating the bank's headquarters from Switzerland to the United States, amid uncertainty surrounding the anticipated capital reforms in Switzerland.

According to the newspaper, the discussions addressed initial concepts for how a potential headquarters move might occur, at a time when the administration of President Donald Trump is open to welcoming the largest Swiss bank.

UBS describes the capital reforms planned by the Swiss government following the Credit Suisse crisis as excessive, as they could raise the bank's capital requirements by about $26 billion.

Bloomberg had indicated in March that the bank is considering the option of moving its headquarters outside Switzerland if the new rules are adopted without any easing.
