أصدر مصرف سورية المركزي قراراً يقضي بتمديد فترة استبدال الليرة السورية ثلاثين يوماً إضافياً، اعتباراً من الأول من شهر يوليو القادم.

وأوضح مصرف سورية في منشور له أمس (الأحد)، أن القرار ينص على استبدال كل فئات العملة القديمة خلال مهلة الاستبدال المشار إليها.

ودعا المصرف كل المؤسسات المالية المعتمدة إلى الاستمرار بالعمل على استبدال كل فئات العملة القديمة اعتباراً من اليوم (الاثنين)، وفقاً لوكالة الأنباء السورية «سانا».

وكان مصرف سورية المركزي أعلن في الأول من الشهر الحالي عن تمديد فترة استبدال العملة ثلاثين يوماً إضافياً، لتبدأ من الأول حتى 30 يونيو القادم، وذلك في إطار التقدم الجيد الذي تشهده عملية الاستبدال.

وفي مطلع شهر مايو الحالي، أكد مصرف سورية المركزي إن عملية استبدال العملة السورية القديمة تسير بوتيرة متسارعة، باستبدال نحو 56% منها حتى الآن، مشيراً أن هذا التقدم تحقق بوتيرة أسرع من المتوقع مع استرداد أكثر من نصف الكتلة النقدية المتداولة.

وأضاف أن عملية الاستبدال تعد ناجحة وفق المعايير المعتمدة، إذ تم خلال نحو 4 أشهر الوصول إلى نسبة إنجاز مرتفعة، مع تدفقات يومية تراوحت بين 12 و13 مليار ليرة، ما يعكس استجابة المواطنين وثقتهم بالإجراءات المتخذة.

وأوضح مصرف سورية المركزي أن التعايش بين العملتين، الليرة الجديدة والليرة القديمة، سيبقى قائماً حتى نهاية مدة الاستبدال.

The Central Bank of Syria has issued a decision to extend the period for exchanging the Syrian pound by an additional thirty days, starting from the first of July.

The Central Bank of Syria clarified in a statement yesterday (Sunday) that the decision stipulates the exchange of all denominations of the old currency during the specified exchange period.

The bank called on all accredited financial institutions to continue working on exchanging all denominations of the old currency starting today (Monday), according to the Syrian news agency "SANA".

On the first of this month, the Central Bank of Syria announced the extension of the currency exchange period by an additional thirty days, which will run from the first to the 30th of June, as part of the good progress being made in the exchange process.

At the beginning of May, the Central Bank of Syria confirmed that the process of exchanging the old Syrian currency is progressing rapidly, with about 56% of it exchanged so far, noting that this progress has been achieved at a faster pace than expected, with more than half of the circulating cash mass being recovered.

It added that the exchange process is considered successful according to the established standards, as a high completion rate has been reached in about 4 months, with daily flows ranging between 12 and 13 billion pounds, reflecting citizens' response and trust in the measures taken.

The Central Bank of Syria explained that the coexistence between the two currencies, the new pound and the old pound, will remain in effect until the end of the exchange period.
