قررت أستراليا رفع الحد الأدنى للأجور بنسبة 4.75% اعتبارًا من يوليو القادم، وذلك بسبب حالة عدم اليقين بشأن مسار الاقتصاد، في خطوة يرى بعض المحللين أنها قد تزيد من الضغوط التضخمية.

وأعلنت الهيئة المستقلة المعنية بتحديد الأجور في البلاد «لجنة العمل العادل» رفع الحد الأدنى للأجور لأسبوع العمل الواحد إلى 1004.9 دولار أسترالي (719 دولارًا أمريكيًا) أو 26.44 دولار أسترالي للساعة.

وتعد هذه الزيادة أعلى من تلك التي أقرت العام الماضي والبالغة 3.5%، لكنها أقل مما طالبت به النقابات العمالية، والتي تراوحت بين 5% و6%.

وذكر «آدم هاتشر» رئيس لجنة العمل العادل أن القرار يؤثر بشكل مباشر على نحو 2.8 مليون عامل أو 21.1% من القوى العاملة.

Australia has decided to raise the minimum wage by 4.75% starting from next July, due to uncertainty regarding the economic outlook, a move that some analysts believe may increase inflationary pressures.

The independent body responsible for setting wages in the country, the "Fair Work Commission," announced the increase in the minimum wage for a week of work to 1004.9 Australian dollars (719 US dollars) or 26.44 Australian dollars per hour.

This increase is higher than the 3.5% approved last year, but lower than what labor unions demanded, which ranged between 5% and 6%.

Adam Hatcher, the chair of the Fair Work Commission, stated that the decision directly affects about 2.8 million workers or 21.1% of the workforce.
