وصف الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب إن الأسواق بالغت في توقعات ارتفاع أسعار النفط، والناس توقعوا أن يصل سعر النفط إلى 300 دولار للبرميل لكنه يبلغ حالياً 96 دولاراً.

وأضاف ترمب في تصريحات: «الحرب ستنتهي بطريقة أو بأخرى وعندما يتم تسوية الأمر فإن أسعار النفط ستنخفض إلى معدلات أقل مما كانت عليه».

وانخفضت أسعار النفط في جلسة الجمعة مع تزايد ثقة المتداولين بأن احتمالات اندلاع مواجهة جديدة بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران آخذة في التراجع.

وتراجعت العقود الآجلة لخام برنت 1.94 دولار أو 2.04% إلى 93.09 دولار للبرميل عند التسوية بعد أن انخفضت 2.84% في الجلسة الماضية.

وهبط سعر خام غرب تكساس الوسيط الأمريكي 2.50 دولار أو 2.69% إلى 90.54 دولار للبرميل بعد خسائر بلغت 3.1% يوم (الخميس) الماضي..

وأوضح ترمب: «سألتقي مسؤولي شركات الذكاء الاصطناعي لبحث حصول الحكومة على حصص فيها».

وذكر ترمب أن خفض الفائدة نقطة واحدة من شأنه أن يوفر ملايين الدولارات.

Trump added in statements: "The war will end one way or another, and when the matter is settled, oil prices will drop to levels lower than they were."

Oil prices fell on Friday as traders grew more confident that the chances of a new confrontation between the United States and Iran were diminishing.

Brent crude futures dropped by $1.94 or 2.04% to $93.09 a barrel at settlement after falling 2.84% in the previous session.

West Texas Intermediate crude fell by $2.50 or 2.69% to $90.54 a barrel after losses of 3.1% last Thursday.

Trump clarified: "I will meet with officials from artificial intelligence companies to discuss the government acquiring stakes in them."

Trump mentioned that a one-point interest rate cut could save millions of dollars.
