وجاءت الدعوة خلال اجتماع في البيت الأبيض ضم عدداً من كبار مسؤولي قطاع الكريبتو، بينهم رؤساء كوين بيس وروبن هود وكراكن، إلى جانب رئيسي هيئتي «SEC» و«CFTC». ويهدف القانون إلى وضع تعريفات أكثر وضوحاً للأصول المشفرة، وتحديد أي الرموز تُعامل كأوراق مالية وأيها كسلع، والجهة التنظيمية المسؤولة عنها. وتأتي دعوة ترمب بعد يوم من اقتراح «SEC» قواعد جديدة تمنح بعض إصدارات العملات المشفرة إعفاءات من قوانين الأوراق المالية لتسهيل إصدار الرموز وجمع التمويل.

تخفيف الضغط على الدولار

وعند سؤاله من قبل أحد الصحفيين ما إذا كان هناك أي خطط للحكومة الأمريكية لشراء كميات من العملات المشفرة من ضمنها البيتكوين، أكد الرئيس ترمب أن العملات المشفرة خففت الكثير من الضغوط عن الدولار وأن المناقشات مستمرة مع الهيئات المالية بشأن شراء كميات منها. فيما قال رئيس هيئة الأوراق المالية والبورصات الأمريكية- «SEC» بول أتكنز: «إن مقترح القانون الذي تقدمت به أمس الهيئة سيوفر الوضوح واليقين التنظيمي اللازمين لجمع رؤوس الأموال داخل الولايات المتحدة».

The call came during a meeting at the White House that included several senior officials from the crypto sector, including the heads of Coinbase, Robinhood, and Kraken, along with the chairs of the SEC and CFTC. The law aims to provide clearer definitions for crypto assets, determining which tokens are treated as securities and which as commodities, as well as the regulatory body responsible for them. Trump's call follows a day after the SEC proposed new rules that grant some cryptocurrency issuances exemptions from securities laws to facilitate token issuance and fundraising.

Relieving Pressure on the Dollar

When asked by a journalist whether there were any plans for the U.S. government to purchase amounts of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, President Trump confirmed that cryptocurrencies have relieved a lot of pressure on the dollar and that discussions are ongoing with financial authorities regarding purchasing amounts of them. Meanwhile, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins stated, "The proposed legislation that the SEC put forward yesterday will provide the clarity and regulatory certainty needed to raise capital within the United States."
